Content

This condensed training is meant to help supply chain managers to avoid making big mistakes and warn them for the common pitfalls.
During this training, the main supply chain processes will be the guideline to explain some basic supply chain techniques. Templates will be provided on a USB-stick for later use.

Objectives

After this training, participants will have a better understanding of the Added Value of Supply Chain Management, and the interactions with other functions in the company.
Every participant will be familiar with the basic principles of Supply Chain Management, and will know how to go through a complete supply chain process: Procure to Pay, Demand to Supply, Order to Cash, Reverse Logistics. They will receive some basic tools and be able to carry out their jobs as Supply Chain employees under leadership of a senior Supply Chain Management Professional.
Some techniques will be illustrated in business games (Fresh Connection)

  • Strategic, Tactical and Operational Supply Chain Management

Strategic & Tactical Supply Chain Management

  • How to optimize logistics costs, service levels and how to reduce supply chain risks

Procure to Pay

  • Planning systems (MRP)
  • Components of lead time, Forrester effect
  • Optimization of raw materials and components logistics
Day 2

Demand to Supply

  • Planning systems ( forecasting, demand management, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP))
  • Systems used in the supply chain (ERP, APS, WMS, …)
  • Production and distribution methods (lean, agile, push, pull)
  • Collaboration in the supply chain (VMI, CPFR, Factory Gate pricing, horizontal & vertical collaboration, …)

Order to Cash

  • Impact of the customer order in different points of the supply chain (Make To Stock, Make To Order, Postponed Manufacturing, …)
  • Stock management
  • Warehouse management
  • Transport management

Reverse Logistics

  • Reverse flows
  • Returnable Transport Items (RTI’s)
  • RMA’s & systems
